                                                TAMIL NADU COMMON ENTRANCE TEST 2011 (TANCET 2011)
                                                        (for M.B.A., M.C.A.&M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan)

IMPORTANT NOTE
The procedure for seeking admission to MBA, MCA and M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan Degree Programmes for the academic year 2011 – 2012 consists of the following two steps:

1. Appearing for the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2011 – May 2011
2. Applying for admission to the admitting authorities concerned – June/July 2011.

ELIGIBILITY

M.B.A.
A pass* in
(a) Any recognised Bachelor’s degree with minimum 3 years duration in 10+2+3 / 4 years pattern
(or)
(b) Any recognised Bachelor’s degree in 10+3 years Diploma + 3 years pattern.
(or)
(c) B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch./B. Pharm. degree

M.C.A.
A pass* in
(a)Any recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in 10 + 2 + 3 / 4 years pattern in any discipline with +2 level Mathematics.
(or)
(b)Any recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in 10 + 2 + 3 pattern in any discipline with Mathematics or Statistics** as any one of the subjects.

M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Plan.

a. A pass* in
i. B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Arch. degree
(or)
ii. 4 years B.Pharm / B.Sc. (Agriculture/Forestry/Horticulture/Fishery) degree
(or)

iii. Master’s Degree in the relevant branch of Science / Arts, which are prescribed.

b. Candidates with section ‘A’ & ‘B’ certificates and other similar certificates of professional bodies or societies (e.g. A.M.I.E.) recognised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India are considered to be equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. degree holders only with 2 years industrial experience in the relevant field after successful completion of the course. An experience certificate is to be produced by the candidate.

ENTRANCE TEST FEE
For candidates who register in person, a demand draft for Rs. 300/- (Rs. 150/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) drawn in favour of “The Director, Entrance Examinations, Anna University,” payable at Chennai, obtained from any Nationalised Bank drawn on or after 01.04.2011 or cash, should be submitted along with the filled-in application, as the Entrance Test fee for any one of the programmes M.B.A. (or) M.C.A.
(or) M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan.

The application form is common for all the Three Entrance Tests. Candidates have to submit only one application form.

A candidate applying for more than one programme has to pay Rs. 300/- (Rs. 150/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) for each additional programme. A single demand draft is sufficient for one or more programmes.

M.B.A. 28.05.2011 (Saturday) (10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon)
M.C.A. 28.05.2011 (Saturday) (02.30 p.m. to 04.30 p.m.)
M.E./ M.Tech./ M.Arch./M.Plan. 29.05.2011 (Sunday) (10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon)
